We are thrilled to be recognized as one of the best workplaces in King County for recycling and waste prevention – for the third year in a row!
Each spring, King County creates a list of the Best Workplace for Waste Prevention and Recycling outside of the City of Seattle. Businesses are recognized for exceptional commitment to recycling and reducing the amount of waste the company sends to the landfill.
We’re excited to be recognized for our efforts, but our commitment to sustainability isn’t about winning awards. To “respect and protect the environment” is part of our mission statement and something we put into practice every day.
We’ve been in business for over 100 years, and we want to be around for another 100 – or more! We recognize that our company cannot continue to be successful if we do not take action to reduce our environmental impact and preserve our natural resources.
Our employees are encouraged to be more environmentally sensitive at work and at home – and to do their part in reducing our carbon footprint by using alternative methods of transportation for commuting to and from work, like bikes, buses, and carpools.
This year, we made the list of Best Workplaces for Recycling and Waste Prevention for the additional efforts we’ve made to reduce our use of paper. We’ve saved approximately 1,000 pieces of paper by revising our production method and communications between our locations on either side of the country.
