The Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI) announced the winners of this year’s International Achievement Awards (IAA) at IFAI Expo, and Rainier is happy to be recognized for our work at Texas A&M’s Kyle Field.
The IAA recognizes excellence in design and innovation, highlighting truly spectacular work in the specialty fabrics and technical textiles industry. The IFAI received a total of 292 entries in 32 categories in this year’s competition. Winners were selected based on complexity, design, workmanship, uniqueness and function. Judges included industry experts, editors, architects, educators and design professionals.
We received the Outstanding Achievement award in the Fabric Graphics category for the graphic structure at the newly renovated Kyle Field. We designed, engineered, fabricated, and installed the system on the back of the new scoreboard.
Rainier has been a member of the IFAI since 1977, and we’ve been recognized by the IAA numerous times (as recently as 2014 for the enclosed commercial awning at local restaurant Liam’s; and in 2012 for our work on the Olympic Stadium.) But this award means more to us than a plaque to decorate our office – it means a lot to earn the respect of our peers in the industry, particularly on a complex project such as this.
