Ballpark Improvements

The Seattle Mariners celebrated their 31st Season Opener in style. Special thanks to the entire Mariners staff for selecting Rainier on several projects prior to the season opener.  We always enjoy working at one of the best ballparks in the world!

Ichiro grabs a homerun

Back, back, back...

This year the team and the outfield wall has a new look with Brad Wilkerson covering right field and Rainier covering the team with 165 brand new pads for the outfield wall. Rainier worked closely with the team in designing and building a new outfielder friendly pad system that has better material and a more forgiving pad for wall crashing and climbing. Look for even more amazing catches from the Mariner outfielders this season!

Home plate Suite digital wall covering

Refuse to Lose

The Mariners Home Plate Suite also got a makeover this spring with the addition of a stunning new digital wall-covering designed by Rainier showcasing the Mariners 1995 Division Series win. Rainier also designed and fabricated a solid wood and glass case to hold the actual 10-inch high home plate pulled from the Kingdome.

Graphics, Canopies & Banners……My oh My

The Rainier design staff kept busy with several more projects around the ballpark. The Terrace Club found new sponsorship this year as Wells Fargo came aboard, prompting an identity and way-finding package overhaul produced and installed by Rainier. In addition, Centerplate Food and Beverage got in on the action with two new canopies on both ballpark levels. Other notable exterior projects included adding new larger-than-life faces to the First Avenue ‘Window Wall of Fame’ and a bevy of colorful street pole banners celebrating a rich tradition in the making. The banners continue around the stadium and up the stairs at each of the two large public entrances off Royal Brougham, dressing up the entrances for fans.

Countdown to Cooperstown

Fly Away!

History in the Making is the theme for this year’s Mariner team – all the way to Cooperstown, where long-time Mariner announcer, Dave Niehaus, will be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. In honor of the event, Rainier produced and installed a “Countdown to Cooperstown,” spanning three stories of the center field stairwell, featuring changeable numbers counting down to the big day.
