Olympic Spirit Lives in Seattle

In keeping with our commitment to sustainability, Rainier helped to partner a winning solution that had an international flavor.  As many of you know, we recently provided Venue Towers for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.  When the Olympics came to an end many of these units stayed at their locations because they were so well received.  The other venue towers would be either auctioned or dismantled for recyclable materials.

The Seattle Center was looking to identify a new area that would feature summer concerts and events.  Once they saw the towers in Vancouver, it was love at first sight and discussions began on buying one of them from the Olympic Committee and transporting it to be repurposed in Seattle.  The team at Rainier worked to dismantle a tower from Whistler and transport it back across the border.  The same tower that once stood proudly for the Olympics was brought to Rainier for a new coat of armor and graphics then set back up in its new home in Seattle.  It was a fun project in recycling and everyone came out a winner.
